Providing consultancy services to decision-makers, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society—both within Egypt and abroad—represents one of the most essential roles of the Institute of National Planning. The Institute has delivered numerous consultancy services to a number of international organizations, including United Nations–affiliated organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The Institute has also provided several consultancy engagements at the request of many national institutions within the framework of contractual agreements between them. These institutions include the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Supply, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Interior, the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and other relevant national institutions.
There are also research projects and studies that have been conducted upon the request of regional and international external institutions, including the Arab Planning Institute, the Arab Society for Economic Research, the Tunisian Institute for Competitiveness and Quantitative Studies, the Regional Center for Sustainable Development, and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
The Institute has signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with several national, regional, and international entities, including the Arab Administrative Development Organization, the Arab Federation for the Protection of Wildlife, Plan International Egypt, the African Institute for Economic Development in Senegal, the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development in the State of Kuwait, the Korea Development Institute (KDI) in South Korea, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
The Institute has also signed a number of cooperation protocols with various national entities, including the State Lawsuits Authority, the Arab Federation of Customs Brokers, the Upper Egypt Development Authority, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science at Alexandria University, the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning, and the National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development.
