Institute of National Planning “Strategic Planning” Seminar for Students at Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Politics and Economics

As part of its 65th-anniversary celebrations, the Institute of National Planning (INP) conducted a seminar titled “Strategic Planning” for 36 students from Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Politics and Economics. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Nagah El-Rees, Dean of the Faculty, alongside faculty members from the Political Science Department, and featured distinguished INP experts including Prof. Dr. Alaa Zahran (Professor at the Economic Policies Center and former INP President) and Dr. Dalia Ibrahim (Technical Office Director to the INP President).

This initiative reflects INP’s commitment to raising university students’ awareness of planning and sustainable development issues, aligning with its community engagement activities.

Prof. Dr. Alaa Zahran addressed key contemporary economic challenges, highlighting structural gaps in Egypt’s economy. He analyzed the impacts of population growth, labor market dynamics, inflation, exchange rates, and public debt, while elaborating on:

  • Strategic planning concepts, dimensions, and typologies
  • The significance of strategic planning
  • Implementation phases and organizational levels
  • Essential strategic planning competencies

Dr. Dalia Ibrahim presented an overview of INP’s establishment, vision, and mission as a nationally influential, regionally leading, and globally distinguished think tank. She detailed INP’s organizational structure and core activities—including research, advisory services, training programs, and community engagement—and highlighted its academic offerings such as Academic Master’s in Planning and Development, Professional Master’s programs in: Sustainable Development Planning & Monitoring and Evaluation.
