As part of the fruitful cooperation between the National Planning Institute and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), we are pleased to invite you to attend the launch event of the research study titled:
“Investing to End Preventable Maternal Deaths in Egypt”
In line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, this study presents an investment analysis that highlights the economic and social return from increased spending on maternal health and family planning. The study builds on previous research on the unmet need for family planning, providing further impetus to prioritize reproductive and maternal health in Egypt’s sustainable development agenda. Together, the two studies reinforce the trend towards women’s empowerment as a pillar of national development, in line with the Integrated National Financing Strategy.
The ceremony will be attended by Her Excellency Dr. Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation and Chairperson of the Institute’s Board of Directors, along with high-level representatives from the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Finance, experts, policymakers and researchers, as well as representatives from international organizations and government institutions.
The session aims to present the findings and recommendations of the study, and open an in-depth discussion with key stakeholders on ways to boost investments in women’s health in Egypt.
